The density ratio of aluminum to steel is 1:3, and aluminum molds can save 1/2 in quality by replacing steel molds. Using steel-aluminum composite mold, the cost of aluminum alloy mold is about 15% lower than that of steel mold. The manufacturing time of aluminum molds is much shorter than that of steel molds, so it takes less time for capital and has obvious advantages.
The cutting cost of aluminum molds can be 35% lower than that of steel molds. The following processes can be used for aluminum molds: repair welding (repair and correction welding), surface hardening treatment (anodizing, electroless plating and nickel plating, etc.) The milling time is 5~10 times longer than the aluminum mold, the drilling time is 5 times longer, the EDM time is 4 times longer, the polishing time is 3~4 times longer, and the cutting tool life is 4 times longer than that of the cutting steel mold. The use of aluminum-steel composite molds can greatly shorten the processing time and save processing costs.
Typical alloys are: 2A12, 2024, 5052, 5754, 5083, 6061, 7075, etc.
Features: high strength, excellent machining performance.
